Cuts beautifully, good battery life and bonus is it's interchangeable with my other ryob batteries.

Light and easy to use.

Excellent for doing the lighter jobs around the garden, trimming the hedge and bushes.

Easy to handle, much better than a corded machine

It copes very well with all sorts of growth - hedges, shrubs and trees! Good clean cut, not to heavy and knocked hours off the annual garden trim and tidy. Use the higher rated batteries though if you have a lot to trim.

Bought this as a back up for the mains powered extra-long-bladed one that does the bulk of the work but is a faff to get out and work with. This cordless one is great for those little jobs that need regularly keeping on top of. It's easy to pick up and use.

Bought to replace an ancient Gardena mains hedgetrimmer which still works but the plastic shield has broken so many times it's becoming a jigsaw of bolts & straps. I wasn't sure whether the battery operated Ryobi would have the power for coping with our privet and hawthorn hedges but it has managed just fine. It may not be quite as powerful but it has done everything we've needed so far and is vastly easier with not having to work around the mains lead. The battery may not be able to cope with all of our hedges in one go but then neither have I! We also bought a second battery, so running time is not an issue. It's much easier to just grab this trimmer & a battery for doing a quick trim than it would be to bring out the mains trimmer and extension lead, fully unwind the lead and sort it during trimming, then wind it all back up again afterwards.

Bought to replace an old Gardena hedge-trimmer which still works but the front shield keeps breaking. I’ve not done a weight comparison but I’m sure the Ryobi is lighter, which is fine by me. Only used it so far to do lighter trimming on our privet and hawthorn hedges but it managed both well enough. I suspect the Gardena, being mains, may have the edge for heavier work but that’s not a problem 99% of the time.

So much easier to just grab the trimmer & battery rather than work around a cable. Construction seems OK and no problems so far.
