I find that my mains powered washer gives too much pressure and I get dirt flying everywhere where I don't want it and it also hurts delicate surfaces. However, a garden hose gives to little pressure and that is why I got this washer. I find it perfect for that in-between use. There are room for some improvements, it is direct drive so as the battery sags in voltage the pressure drops noticeably, you probably get decent pressure for 50% - 70% of the battery capacity. I find that the runtime is decent with a 5 Ah battery. I have 2 x 5 ah batteries and the fast charger, but it doesn't charge fast enough for me to run continuously by switching batteries, you will probably need at least 3 batteries and 2 fast chargers to be able to do that. I think I will get the 9 Ah HP battery to see if that is able to keep the pressure up for a larger part of the battery capacity.

i have been looking for something like this for a while but have found them out of my price range until now just bought the bare machine as i have a few Ryobi cordless tools so had the battery's for this

For battery operated this exceeded my expectations, I'd recommend having 2 batteries one on standby and one in use because I find myself rushing as it doesn't last long. If you can use a mains powered go for that if you need a battery one then this will surprise you

This is a well designed tool with a range of useful accessories. Whilst it will not blow your head off, the pressure is reasonable and adequate for a range of cleaning jobs. It will not restore your patio but it will clean your car. It has the useful ability to extract water from a butt or even a bucket as well as operating from a mains water supply. For the latter use you should install a back Flow Prevention Valve. This prevents dirt water entering the water supply. This costs about £20. I found connection of a hose challenging. The tool has a male Hozelock type connection and whilst the supplied butt extraction hose fitted with a female end connected up fairly easily, connection with my hose was difficult and removal even more so. I used branded Hozelock and Gardena connectors and had the same problem. Ryobi exchanged the 2 litre bottle accessory hose because of a similar difficulty. Once properly connected, though, the link between hose and tool is excellent with no leaks.
Weight might be a problem for some. It is a fairly heavy piece of kit, quite typical of Ryobi tools which always have a solid feel of quality. Using the washer up a ladder with a hose connected requires care. However, with the addition of the detergent bottle accessory and the addition of "Wet And Forget", I was able to remove moss from the painted end of my house. Nice not to have a trailing power cable. I recommend this tool, recognising it is not a high powered blaster but still a versatile and easily used product. And Ryobi, as always, and speaking from experience, offer superb customer service, possibly one of the best in the power tools business.

The unit will be more effective if the water source was from a main water line. The idea to have the water source from a container is good, but most houses now have an outside main water source.
